Shaddox Hollow Hike
October 7, 2012
After church today Michael talked us into going on a hike at one of the state parks by Beaver Lake. It was a beautiful trail and we had a great time. So glad the kids are old enough to start getting into things like this even though they did end up on our backs and shoulders a couple of times because Peter “ran out of walking.”
He’s ready to go!
Gabby and her walking stick that Uncle Sammy made for her.
Yep, what every avid hiker needs. Starbucks! How yuppie are we! The drive wasn’t long enough to finish it in the car and you can’t not finish it.
Wax on, Wax off. He had to do it!
Love my sweet boy!
Love this picture. That’s a little cave entrance in the background.
Dried out creek bed at the bottom of the trail.
The trail was pretty natural for the most part but they did add these helpful stairs at one point.
After we finished the trail we drove down to one of the campgrounds to look around. We saw 6 deer in the woods and they let us watch them for awhile.
You can’t tell what’s going on here but it was a young deer that just bounced right up to it’s momma and started nursing. Never seen that before!
